8:50am – 3.30pm

The school day at Coppermill begins at 8:50am. Our gates are open from 8:40am onwards and children should be ready to go into class when classroom doors open at 8:50. Punctuality is extremely important in helping children to feel settled and ready for their day at school. The first part of the day is also when key learning is introduced, so we appreciate your support in getting your child(ren) to school on time.

Children in KS1 have a 15 minute morning and afternoon break and an hour for lunch, whilst children in KS2 have their morning break, lunch hour and a short 'brain break' as needed in the afternoon. Children in our Nursery and Reception have access to outdoor space throughout the day as part of our continuous provision.

The school is part of the scheme run by the DfE where EYFS and KS1 children receive a piece of fruit a day. Children can also bring a healthy snack from home to eat during morning playtime. Children are encouraged to bring a bottle of water which can be refilled at school and is available to them in the classroom throughout the day.

At the end of the day we ask that children are collected on time. It can be distressing for a child, when everybody else has gone home, to be left at school. We understand that problems do arise, but if parents telephone us, we can reassure your child that you are on the way.

We ask that dogs are not brought onto the school premises at morning drop off or afternoon pick up to ensure the safety of our children and families.
