PUPIL VOICE

At Coppermill pupil voice is essentital and we endeavour to give ALL children lots of opportunities to share their thoughts and opinions and play an active role in the decisions that affect their learning and well-being.

We have lots of ways that the children can do this formally, such as through the school council and eco council, pupil ambassadors and assembly ambassadors. We also carry out pupil surveys (led by the School Council) each term to check in with our children and to get feedback on what we are doing well and what we can do better.

We also carry out pupil learning conversations throughout the year in each subject to get the children's insight into their learning and how well our curriculum is meeting their needs. As well as this, we also want to create an ethos that allows the children to regularly share their opinions in an informal way and we encourage open discussions in class. Through our PSHE and RSE curriculum we ensure children are confident in talking about the key issues that affect their lives as well as helping them build positive relationships with their peers. We also have an open door policy where all members of SLT are available for children to talk to about any issues.

Please see our school council, eco council and junior ambassador pages to find out more about these roles and how the children contribute to school life.
